The 11th running of the Hastings Runners Five-Mile Race will be held on Sunday May 8, starting from outside Hastings Town Hall at 10.30am.

If you were inspired by watching the half marathon and fancy getting into the spirit of running, this could be your chance.

The course is absolutely flat and takes in most of the seafront landmarks, including the soon-to-be reopened pier.

The turning point is at the western end of the promenade, from where runners will head along to the Hastings Adventure Golf area in Pelham Place before returning to finish at the town hall.

This event is suitable for runners of all abilities, from the very fast to the very slow, and all will receive a special memento to mark the occasion. All proceeds from the event will go towards St Michael’s Hospice.

Entries are rolling in and with a limit of 500 runners, an early cut off is expected. If you wish to take part, you can enter online at the Hastings Runners, Runner’s World and Run Britain websites or pick up an entry form from Wisdens sports shop in Trinity Street.
