Ariana Dowse was presented with the Sussex Women’s Under-15 Players’ Player accolade for 2014/2015 at the Sussex Women’s Cricket Association presentation event.

Despite being one of the younger players in the team, Ariana was appointed vice-captain of Sussex under-15s for the 2014/2015 campaign. She also has the important twin role of keeping wicket and opening the batting.

Her performances during the summer were such that Ariana earned the opportunity to ‘play up’ in older age groups and especially enjoyed keeping wicket for the Sussex under-19 women’s side in a county match against Middlesex.

Trials have already been held for the coming 2015/2016 season and Ariana has once again been chosen to represent Sussex in the under-15 age group.

Ariana plays her club cricket with Hastings Priory ladies’ first XI in the Women’s Cricket Southern League, as well as various Priory boys’ and men’s teams.

Earlier in the year Ariana was selected by the Sussex Women’s Cricket Association to attend an England Women’s Development Programme under-15 talent day in Loughborough.

What’s more, during the summer she was also invited by the Bermuda under-14 boys’ cricket team to join its UK tour, which proved a great experience.

Ariana, who is coached by Adam Maharaj-Newman and Tim van Noort, won the Sussex Women’s Cricket Association under-13 players’ player of the season award last year.
