Park were due to host Dinton in the last 16 of the Davidstow Village Cup on Sunday, but the match was postponed following persistent rain during the morning and through the preceding night.

A club spokesman said: “It was very frustrating bearing in mind all the hard work that had been put in during the week. It would have been a great occasion.”

The match has now been switched to Dinton this Sunday (tomorrow) and despite the disappointment of losing home advantage, Park are hopeful of taking a coachload of supporters to cheer them on.

Park, who are just a point above the two relegation places in Sussex Cricket League Division Two, will be eager to avenge their defeat away to Buckinghamshire outfit Dinton in the last 32 of the same competition last year.

The winners will be away to Hertfordshire side Reed in the quarter-finals on Sunday July 20.
