Priory expect tough test at Horsham

The defending Sussex Premier League champions visit a Horsham side which had an 18-point lead wiped out on an amazing final day of the season.

“They will be out for revenge. They will remember what happened last year so we need to be on our game,” said Morgan ahead of Saturday’s contest.

Horsham head the fledgling league table by 14 points after winning the only match in the top flight to officially beat the bad weather on the opening day of the season last weekend.

Bexhill did manage to get a Twenty20 game in while Priory’s home fixture against Roffey was called off without a ball being bowled.

“It’s a bit frustrating with the weather because everybody wants to get out there and play,” Morgan went on. “I know Horsham played last week but everybody’s in the same boat really.

“All not playing will do is emphasise to the players the need not to be lacklustre, to be focused and give your wicket away at your peril, while when it comes to the bowling to do the basic principles.

“We’re a little bit undercooked but the guys are champing at the bit. We’ll go there in confident mood.”

Meanwhile, Crowhurst Park host Burgess Hill in Sussex Division Three (East).

Priory are also due to be in action on Sunday (1pm) when they take on Brighton & Hove at Horntye Park in the second round of the ECB National Club Championship.
