Sidley lose out in high-scoring contest

SIDLEY ended their season in Sussex Cricket Division Two with a high-scoring defeat at home to Findon.

Already guaranteed to finish bottom of the table, Sidley amassed 289-6 off 52 overs at Gullivers thanks to good knocks from Neil Priddy (82), John Haffenden (62 not out), Paul Thompson (56), Paul Nice (43) and Sam Steele (40).

The Findon batsmen also enjoyed the conditions and finished on 292-4 with much of the damage being done by Bradley Bridson (86) and Glenn Bridson (58).

Craig Ramsden (2-34) and Chris Deeprose (1-28) were the only wicket-takers among the 10 bowlers used by Sidley.

Division Two final standings (all played 18 matches): Three Bridges 376pts, Cuckfield 298, St James’s Montefiore 294, Pulborough 275, Glynde & Beddingham 275, Findon 256, Goring-by-Sea 254, Ifield 241, Haywards Heath 235, Sidley 203.
