Farrier expected to miss rest of season

SIDLEY United captain Wayne Farrier is almost certainly out for the rest of the season after finally having an operation on his troublesome knee.

Farrier, who has been plagued by the injury since his Langney Sports days, took the option of a late cancellation and went under the knife on Friday.

The knee is expected to take six to eight weeks to heel, which would almost certainly dash any hope the central defender had of returning this season.

Joint manager Peter Heritage said: "That s probably him done for the season. But in a way it s a good thing because it means it s done and sorted out."

Sidley, who have not played in the league for more than a month, are due to be at home to Selsey on Saturday February 9, before visiting Three Bridges the following Tuesday.
