The Pirates lie ninth in Macron Store Southern Combination Football League Division One approaching the midway point in their campaign.

Bexhill manager Munday said: “It’s close around the middle. There’s a lot of sides all similar who can all beat each other. It’s going to be tough, but our target is as high as possible and hopefully be the highest side in the area. It’s another building year for us.

“We’re not a million miles away and we know we can beat anyone on our day. For me it’s just keeping the whole team together and getting some consistency.”

Bexhill are without a fixture this weekend as they are the odd one out of the division’s 17 teams.

Their one remaining scheduled game before the festive derby against Little Common on Monday December 28 is away to Langney Wanderers on Saturday December 19.

“We had so many of the lads away this weekend so it’s panned out quite well that we haven’t got a fixture, but we need to train well for the next few sessions to make sure we don’t drop our levels,” added Munday.
