Goals from Jacob Shelton, Gordon Cuddington and manager Marc Munday gave Bexhill a 3-0 victory at home to second-bottom Seaford Town in Macron Store Southern Combination Football League Division One.

Munday said: “It was comfortable. All the chances came from us. I’m really pleased with the scoreline especially and hopefully it’s a push in the right direction.

Bexhill started the game in the same positive fashion they began both halves against Langney Wanderers four days earlier and took just four minutes to open their account.

Some good football between Bexhill’s attacking players ended with Cuddington playing the ball through to Shelton, who did well to hold off two defenders before scoring with a good finish. In doing so Shelton became Bexhill’s 20th different scorer this season.

Although Corey Wheeler went off with a suspected broken nose, Bexhill doubled their advantage in the 25th minute through Cuddington’s second goal in as many matches.

“If anyone deserves a goal it’s him because the workrate he’s putting in is fantastic,” said Munday. “He was immense.”

If there was any doubt over the outcome at half time, there certainly wasn’t after Munday scored Bexhill’s third goal 10 minutes into the second period. Josh Elliott-Noye flicked the ball on and Munday fired home on the half-volley from seven yards for his first non-headed goal of the campaign.

With the game effectively won, Bexhill’s focus shifted to keeping a clean sheet and they spent more time on the defensive as a result.

Seaford carved out their only two genuine chances of the game at 3-0, but failed to convert them and Adam Osborne kept his first clean sheet in the Bexhill goal. It was Bexhill’s second win against Seaford this season.

Bexhill: Osborne, Munday, Rayner, Elliott-Noye (Dadd), Cruikshank, Blanche, Barden, Cuddington, Shelton, Peoples, Wheeler (Penney).
