Bexhill see off Seaford

A goal in either half from Kevin Barden and Josh Elliott-Noye enabled the Pirates to win 2-0 away to bottom-of-the-table Seaford Town in Macron Store Sussex County Football League Division Two.

Bexhill manager Marc Munday said: “The 2-0 scoreline flattered Seaford. We were solid all the way through the team and we caused them so many problems.”

Munday gave a first start to Barden and the attacking midfielder responded by opening the scoring after 20 minutes, breaking through the Seaford defence and finishing neatly.

Barden also had what Munday described as “a cast iron” penalty appeal turned down after a Seaford defender almost piggy-backed him.

Munday said of Barden: “He hasn’t played for a bit, but he’s still fit, he’s quick, he’s strong and he’s just a handful for anyone. He’s going to be a good asset and he’s the right type of character.”

Elliott-Noye doubled Bexhill’s advantage just before the midway point of the second half with a cracking header from a free kick.

“We needed that second goal just to settle it,” added Munday. “It was a good time for it to come because when you’re 1-0 up, you never know.”

Allan McMinigal, Scott McDonald and Dan Hill also had chances, while Yarni Camara was relatively untroubled in the Bexhill goal.
