Big night of county league action

Four of the locality’s Sussex County Football League clubs will be in action tonight (Tuesday).

Sidley United travel to Ringmer in Division One gunning for a third consecutive victory in all competitions following their league success at Pagham on Saturday and FA Cup triumph away to Hassocks the previous weekend.

Even though Dominic Clarke and Lawrence Brand are expected to return, the Blues are anticipating a tough game against a Ringmer side which has also won two out of three in the league so far.

Also in Division One, Rye United will be eager to return to winning ways following a disappointing draw at the weekend when they travel to Crowborough Athletic.

Rye scored 18 goals in three matches against the Crows last season and manager Scott Price says there will be changes to the squad against opposition which has taken three points from as many fixtures.

Two unbeaten records will be on the line in Division Two when Little Common travel to Newhaven. Common have picked up four points from their first two games, while Newhaven have taken six out of six.

Also in Division Two, Westfield will head to Seaford Town in another match between teams yet to taste defeat. Westfield have drawn their opening two games, while Seaford have won one and lost one.
