Ian Hine looks at who shone and who struggled for Graham Potter's men.

Very little to do other than acting as the fulcrum for Albions playing from the back. Absolutely no chance with the goal.
Pushed forward but unable to deliver end product. Picked up a yellow card and was lucky to not receive another in the second half. One driving cross in second half just evaded Murray. Substituted on 72 minutes.
Seemed to be more comfortable with Albions passing style, despite being caught out a couple of times in the first half. Commanding in the air
Another composed performance. Always there with a block or an interception. Some raking cross-field balls not quite on target but another good game from the skipper
Very quiet game on his return to the side. Struggled to get into the flow of the game and failed to make his trademark surging runs forward.
Steady performance in the heart of Albions team. Never shy of the ball and always looking to create. Lost the ball for Watfords goal but was unlucky to make amends in the second half, drawing a fine save from Foster.
Quiet game by his standards and found it difficult to stamp his authority on proceedings. More of the same in the second half and was substituted on 61 minutes.
Good game and was involved throughout. Always looking to send a dangerous ball into the danger areas and was also good in defence, making a number of timely interceptions. Deserved his sponsor Man of the match award.
Kept plugging away throughout the game, without much to show for it. Came more into the game in the second half as Albion piled on the pressure. Drew some fouls in dangerous positions.
Always busy in midfield, without showing any real penetration. Guilty at times of slowing the game down when he might have been a little more positive.
Didnt get much change out of the Watford defensive line and struggled to impose himself on the game. Won some important headers but struggled for support until Neal Maupay came on.
Busy when he came on, providing Glenn Murray with some much-needed support. Exchanged passes with Mooy that led to excellent save from Foster. Looked dangerous
Brought on after 61 minutes and immediately looked to make things happen on the right hand side. Slotted in well at right back
Busy down the right flank when he came on and provided the low, driven cross that was turned into his own net by Mariappa. Another couple of opportunities and was unlucky to get something.
Very little to do in the first half. One great save with his feet in the second half to deny Mooy. Guilty of timewasting towards the end of the game.
Struggled against pace and trickery of Trossard and picked up a yellow card on 64 for a foul on March. Scored an own goal on 78 minutes, turning on Jahanbakhshs low cross.
Some tidy work when Albion threatened in the first half but not really a great deal to do.
Found some space in behind Albions midfield, especially in the first half. Unable to capitalise due to some misplaced passing.
Alive to the loose ball on 19 minutes when he picked up when Albion lost possession. Surged into the box and unleashed a fierce shot that beat Ryan comprehensively. Largely anonymous after that.
Hard-working first half, with March & Schelotto working the flanks. Made some excellent covering tackles. Quieter second half
Had a good chance early on but faded as the match wore on. Substituted on 81 minutes
Not really put under enough pressure by Albion front line. Clumsy challenge at the start of the second half
Busy in the first half, making a nuisance of himself in midfield. Tangled with Davy Propper just before half time but escaped a card. Not so lucky after 63 minutes, getting his yellow after fouling Maupay
Very quiet throughout. Made one jinking run early in the second half but pulled his weak shot wide. Substituted on 85 minutes
Kept very quiet by Albions central defenders. Had one opportunity after dispossessing Duffy, but unable to make anything of it.
On after 81 minutes but made no impact
On after 86 minutes but unable to make an impression
