Common match postponed

The Macron Store Southern Combination Football League Division One fixture at home to Steyning Town has been called-off due to a waterlogged pitch following an 11am inspection.

Common have experienced problems with a couple of small areas of their playing surface during the last couple of months and it still hasn’t dried out sufficiently following the rain of Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

The Commoners still have 11 matches remaining this term, the first of which is away to Storrington next Saturday (March 19). They currently lie eighth in the table and will remain in that position regardless of other results this afternoon.

Elsewhere this afternoon, Hastings United will travel to Carshalton Athletic in Ryman Football League Division One South, Bexhill United are at home to Saltdean United in Southern Combination Division One and Westfield are away to Montpelier Villa in Southern Combination Division Two.
