Hastings United Football Club manager Dom Di Paola is now happy with the depth of his squad and says no further signings are in the pipeline.

Di Paola has brought in five players over the last 11 days, taking the number of new arrivals to eight since his appointment earlier in the month.

He said: “There’s no more coming from previous clubs; it’s just if someone doesn’t make the grade or if someone becomes available.

“We’ve got numbers now and that was killing us. They will make the grade the ones that have come in. The forward lads have given us more pace going forward. I think Joe Shelley will be really good for us and Charlie Farmer’s been excellent.

“We will get there, but it’s going to be up and down for the first few weeks. It’s kind of two halves of two teams and it’s going to take a bit of time.”

Di Paola is still keen to have a look at all of his squad and the Parafix Sussex Senior Cup second round tie away to AFC Uckfield Town on Tuesday night should provide a good opportunity.

Ade Olorunda will be back from holiday, but Sean Ray (knee) could be out for a fortnight and Shelley will probably rest a groin problem. The U’s are fixtureless today (Saturday).
