All of the games involving the area’s senior clubs have been postponed due to waterlogged pitches, including Hastings United’s trip to Corinthian-Casuals in Ryman Football League Division One South.

Casuals tweeted earlier this morning to say that the pitch was fine and the game would go ahead, but it later emerged that wasn’t in fact the case and the game has now been called-off by the referee.

It means yet another game for Hastings to fit in. They still have 19 matches to play before the end of the season, and have played between two and five matches fewer than any other club in the division.

Elsewhere, the area’s three Macron Store Southern Combination Football League clubs - Bexhill United, Little Common and Westfield - have all had their games postponed.

Westfield - who have yet to play a competitive game in 2016 - will instead contest a friendly against AFC Hildenborough at Maskells School from 1.45pm. Common, meanwhile, still haven’t played a league fixture since the turn of the year.

The Macron East Sussex Football League programme has again been pretty much wiped out, although the Division One match between Eastbourne Rangers and Ticehurst will go ahead on the 3G pitch at Eastbourne Sports Park.

Rugby has also not escaped because Hastings & Bexhill’s first and second team games have been postponed due to waterlogged pitches. The front side was due to host Kent One leaders Sheppey.
