Four for Hole in Common win

Having conceded six goals in both of their previous two games, Common scored six this time in a 6-2 win at home to Storrington with leading scorer Lewis Hole netting four of them.

After hitting the post twice in quick succession, Common fell behind to a Richard Ayres goal. Common struck twice in quick succesion, though, shortly before the break with Hole equalising and Steve Morris putting them 2-1 in front.

Allan McMinigal set up Hole to make it 3-1 before Storrington pulled one back in the 65th minute. Hole completed his hat-trick with an 82nd minute penalty and another spot-kick from the same player five minutes later made it 5-2 before substitute Zack McEniry rounded-off the scoring.

Elsewhere in Sussex County Football League Division Two, Westfield made it back-to-back league victories for the first time this season with a 2-1 success away to Steyning Town. Dominic Clarke scored both goals as Westfield won at the Shooting Field for the second time this term.

Bexhill United’s run of three wins and clean sheets in four matches was ended by a 5-1 drubbing at home to second-placed Loxwood, also in Division Two. Dan Hill struck the crossbar after a minute, but Bexhill were two-down by the 25-minute mark.

Two more goals in quick succession put freescoring Loxwood four-up by the hour and they added a fifth on 73 minutes before Jacob Shelton nabbed a consolation for Bexhill. See Friday’s Observers for full reports on each game.
