Ham out for three months

Ham sustained a badly sprained ankle in the Sussex County Football League Division Two Challenge Cup tie away to Steyning Town on Saturday October 20.

Parris said: “Casey’s out for three months. He had to go to (hospital in) Brighton on Sunday night with bad circulation (in his ankle) and they put him in a cast.”

Ham, who scored nine goals during an impressive start to the season, has severe ligament damage and was due to go for an MRI scan yesterday (Thursday).

Parris expects another attacking player, Martin Denny, to return from injury for the visit from Mile Oak in the league tomorrow. Ashley Kidman should also be back, but Dan Hill and Sam Thompson remain sidelined.

The only unbeaten side in the division, Bexhill lie fourth after last weekend’s scheduled visit from Wick was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. Mile Oak are eight places and seven points worse off.

Bexhill will be back in action on Tuesday night with a John O’Hara League Challenge Cup third round tie at home to Lingfield. It will be Bexhill’s sixth cup match of the season and their first at The Polegrove.

Parris, whose side has already won away to two Division One teams this term, has issued seven-day approaches for two un-named players and was hoping to sign one of them yesterday.
