The Pilot Field pitch has passed an afternoon inspection thanks to the hard work of club volunteers to clear the surface of water following all the rain of yesterday evening and last night.

The fact that the match has got the green light will be of great relief to United because they are already playing every Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday between now and the end of the season on Saturday April 27.

Buoyed by the much-needed 1-0 win at Kingstonian on Monday night, United will move out of the Ryman Football League Premier Division’s two relegation places if they make it back-to-back victories tonight.

They are currently a point behind third-bottom Lewes with three games in hand and three adrift of fourth-bottom Wingate & Finchley having played four fewer matches. Lewes are also in action tonight at home to fifth-placed Margate.

Harrow themselves have a bit of work to do to preserve their Premier Division status. The north-west London outfit is currently five points and four places above a United side which won August’s reverse fixture 1-0.

United hope to welcome back Elliott Cox, Jack Dixon, Ben Judge and Freddie Warren, although Zac Attwood is unlikely to be risked after going off with a hamstring injury 10 minutes into Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Bognor Regis Town.

Long-term injury victim Bradley Goldberg is expected to attend the match and player-manager Sean Ray said there’s a chance he could be available for the visit of Hendon on Saturday.

Kick-off is 7.45pm and you can get regular updates by following @SimonNewstead on Twitter. The Sussex County Football League Division One derby between Rye United and Sidley United, however, has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

A Bexhill United Legends XI, meanwhile, will take on a Lashings All-Stars side featuring a host of famous names from the recent past at The Polegrove from 6pm.
