Lusted makes Common return

Jared Lusted has returned to Little Common to help the football club’s battle against relegation.

The pacey attacking player is back at the Recreation Ground for the final six games of Common’s season in Sussex County Football League Division Two.

Common player-manager Russell Eldridge said: “He will be joining us this week which is good news for us. It’s another player that can help us create goals. He’s got all the attributes to be a really good footballer.”

Lusted banged in 20 goals for Common as they came fourth two years ago, but missed virtually the whole of last term through injury. He began the current campaign with Eastbourne Town reserves and joined Sidley United in December.

“My aim is to get him back firing on all cylinders, and give him that confidence and freedom to do what he does best and that’s running at defenders and creating opportunities,” continued Eldridge.

Lusted is the third player to join Common in little more than a week. Drew Greenall and Kevin Rose made their first appearances for the club in the 5-1 defeat at home to Littlehampton Town last weekend.
