Perhaps the day’s stand-out result came in the Premier Division where Rock-a-Nore saw off Peche Hill Select 9-4 in a 13-goal thriller.

Rocks sharp-shooter Kale Williams fired home six goals to go top of the division’s scoring charts. Sean Baldwin (2) and Scott Ramsay also netted for the Rocks, while Ashley Kidman, Danny Oak, Connor Robertson and Asher Grindle scored for Peche Hill.

St Leonards Social are now just two wins away from the top flight title following a narrow 3-2 win at home to Iden. Ricky Matthews, Colton Alleyne-Davis and Brett Patton hit the Saints’ goals, while Rob Levett bagged a brace for an Iden side which trailed 2-1 at the break and then 3-1.

Sedlescombe Rangers recovered from 2-0 down on the hour to win 3-2 against Ore Athletic. Tony Barnett and Matt Sellick’s 30-yard screamer put Athletic in charge before Rhys Warren, Ryan Edwards and Alex Hamblin masterminded the Rangers turnaround.

Mountfield United went seven points clear at the top of Division One on the back of a 1-0 victory away to previously unbeaten Bexhill AAC. Matt Tidmarsh won it for Mountfield with just 20 minutes left.

John Penny’s 89th minute strike, his second of the game, earned Wadhurst United a 2-2 draw against Icklesham Casuals, who move out of the relegation zone. Martin Tytherleigh and Bradlee Mepham netted for an Icklesham side which trailed 1-0 at the break.

Division Two leaders Eastbourne Rangers made it 10 league wins out of 10 with a comfortable 4-0 victory away to previously unbeaten second-placed Old Hastonians.

Bottom side Northiam 75 gained their first win of the season by defeating visitors Crowhurst 2-1. Simon Randall put Crowhurst ahead from the penalty spot just after the break, but James Fielding converted a spot-kick of his own to bring Northiam level and then grabbed an 85th minute winner.
