Common won two cup matches and a league game last month, as well as suffering a narrow defeat to table-topping opposition on Saturday.

“It was a good month for us in all competitions and we’re over the moon to take that award,” said Common player-manager Russell Eldridge. “Credit to the group of players who have played. It’s been a real group effort so well done to everyone.”

Common will now seek to carry their November form on into December and their cause will be helped by the news that Steve Morris has returned to the club.

The powerful striker, who can also play in defence, has been a prolific scorer for the Commoners in recent seasons.

With existing duo Lewis Hole and Jamie Crone having scored nearly 30 goals between them this term, Common look to have plenty of firepower.

Common player-manager Russell Eldridge said: “He’s signed on and has trained the last two weeks. We’ll be looking to involve him in the next few weeks.”

The Commoners are without a fixture this coming Saturday, but will be back in action on Tuesday night with a Parafix Sussex Senior Challenge Cup third round tie away to Arundel.

Common’s quarter-final at home to Chichester City in the Sussex Principal RUR Charity Cup has been rearranged for Tuesday December 15 having been postponed on Tuesday night.
