Super Saints net title hat-trick

ST Leonards Social are the champions of the East Sussex Football League for the third year in succession.

They clinched the title with a 3-0 win away to Wadhurst United on Saturday, the goals coming from Colton Alleyne-Davis (2) and Paul Nessling.

Pursuing Hollington United are assured of the runners-up spot in the Premier Division after thumping Robertsbridge United 7-0. On target were Alan Foster (2), Andy Garman (2), Shane Ryan, Billy Warnes and Danny Woodley.

The previous Wednesday they had given themselves a glimmer of hope of overhauling the Saints with a 4-2 defeat of Sedlescombe Rangers who three days later contested a 3-3 draw with Polegate Town. Ben Ferguson, Martin Durling and Steve Davey scored for Rangers, while Ali Thompson (2) and Steve Green replied.

Battle Baptists saw their hopes of lifting the Division Three title end after only managing to draw 2-2 with Herstmonceux. Adam Staplehurst and Adam Gooch both struck with Karl Field and Ashley Hall replying for Ceux.

Division Four title hopefuls Orington were edged out 6-5 in a thrilling match against Peasmarsh & Iden II. Rob Levett (3), Andy Crouch, Joe Charlton and Francis Walker netted for P&I, while Steve McGowan (2), Matt Gilbert, Carl Longbottom and John Ellis responded.

AFC Sidley added the Division Six title to their two cup triumphs thanks to a 3-0 win over closest rivals Catsfield II. Ollie Walton, Sean Wyatt and Orlando Correia grabbed the all-important goals.
