Tough trip awaits Sidley

Sidley United face a tough-looking trip to Peacehaven & Telscombe tonight (Wednesday).

The Blues will be up against a Peacehaven team which many expect to be among the leading contenders in Sussex County Football League Division One this season.

Sidley manager John Lambert said: “Peacehaven looks a formidable squad, but we always look forward to the tough games.”

Both teams began the season with a win at the weekend. Sidley came from behind to triumph 3-1 away to 10-man Worthing United, while Peacehaven were 4-1 victors at home to East Grinstead Town.

Sidley defender Dan Cruikshank is expected to return having missed the Worthing game through holiday, but Lawrence Brand is away and Paddy Cody is struggling with injury. Matt Dann is likely to continue in goal.
