The U’s will entertain fellow Ryman Football League Division One South outfit Burgess Hill Town, while Rye will visit Eastbourne Town in the last 16 of the county knockout competition.

Table-topping United are 17 points and 13 places above the Hillians in the league, albeit having played two more games. The sides played out a 1-1 draw when they met at Leylands Park in August and are due to play the reverse league fixture at The Pilot Field on Saturday December 28.

Although fifth-from-bottom of Sussex County League Division One, Rye will fancy their chances against an Eastbourne team lying bottom of Ryman Division One South. Rye have already knocked out one side from that division in Crawley Down Gatwick.

Full draw: East Preston v Whitehawk; Peacehaven & Telscombe v Pagham; Bognor Regis Town v Eastbourne United AFC; Horsham YMCA v Lewes; Eastbourne Town v Rye United; Brighton & Hove Albion v Eastbourne Borough; Hastings United v Burgess Hill Town; Worthing v Newhaven.

The ties are to be played on Tuesday January 21 and Wednesday January 22, which means Hastings’ league game at home to Herne Bay on Monday January 20 is likely to be moved.
