United net home FA Cup draw

Hastings United have received a very welcome home draw in the FA Cup today (Friday).

The U’s will entertain Chatham Town, Peacehaven & Telscombe or Banstead Athletic in first round qualifying on Saturday September 8. All three possible opponents ply their trade at a lower level than United.

Rye United, meanwhile, are back in the FA Cup for the first time in four years. They and Sidley United have received away draws early on, avoiding the issue of finding an alternative venue if drawn at home (due to their grounds being used for cricket).
