The U’s have drafted in Kevant Serbony from fellow Ryman Football League Division One South outfit Corinthian-Casuals as they prepare for three games in six days which could have a big bearing on whether or not they make the top five.

Serbony played for Casuals against United in last Tuesday’s 2-2 draw and given that his transfer form was sent to the league this morning (Wednesday), he is expected to be eligible for the crunch game at Hythe Town tomorrow.

United manager Garry Wilson said: “We did try and sign him about three weeks ago. He decided to stay where he was then, but now he’s going to come and play for us.

“He can play central midfield, behind the front man and can also play wide, but he’s more of a threat coming from the middle. Him and Jack (McLean, who signed at the end of last week) are direct players, which I think is a good thing. He will be an asset that’s for sure.”

Serbony had spells with the likes of AFC Wimbledon, Sutton United and Hampton & Richmond before coming to Casuals in July 2015.

United are currently in eighth place - three positions and two points outside the play-offs having played fewer matches than all of the teams around them. They will host Whyteleafe on Saturday before travelling to Molesey next Tuesday night.
