The Northiam-based shooting great added yet another victory to his glittering CV by winning the FITASC World Championship Compak Sporting in Estonia.

After four days of intense, high scoring competition, Digweed achieved a remarkable score of 199/200. He missed his fourth target, but went on to hit the subsequent 196.

Despite his near faultless performance, Digweed only finished one target clear of French shooter Christophe Auvret and Hungarian marksman Andras Szerdahelyi. Auvret won the shoot-off for second place.

It was Digweed’s second World Championship success of 2015 because he also won the World English Sporting Championship in Florida during April.

He triumphed by the emphatic margin of nine clays on that occasion with a total of 208/225, giving him the perfect 51st birthday present.

In addition to his 25 World Championship victories (which have been spread across four decades), Digweed has won 18 European Championships, 116 international championships, 16 World Cups, 10 European Cups and 11 British & English Championships during a glittering career. He also received an MBE in 2009.
