Giants to host US stars

The ADA Bexhill Giants will play host to the USA Select basketball organisation at Summerfields Leisure Centre in Hastings today (Friday).

The Giants will take on Team USA Select (Blue) in the second of two exhibition matches after Brighton Cougars face USA Select (Red) from 6.30pm.

The action starts at 5pm with Team USA coaching staff conducting a free drop-in coaching clinic open for players aged 7-16 of all experience. There will be prizes, competitions, cheerleaders and giveaways during the evening, and spectators are encouraged to arrive early as seating is limited.

The Giants had the ideal preparation for the tough task ahead when they hosted their annual pre-season invitational tournament at Bexhill Leisure Centre on Saturday.

Bexhill made an excellent start with comprehensive victories against Eastbourne Lions and New House Nighthawks (Sittingbourne) in their first two matches before being beaten 27-32 by local rivals Eastbourne Hotshots in a tense winner-takes-all final encounter.

The Giants will be joining a list of illustrious professional British Basketball League teams who have faced USA Select on their tour, including BBL champions Leicester Riders.
