The local club celebrated victories in two individual events and several other top three finishes in the third match of the season at Stanmer Park, Brighton.

Nine-year-old hot prospect Ziggy Henry comfortably won the under-11 boys' race, with Isaiah Wilson third. Jonas Judah finished fourth in the under-13 boys' event.

Erica Body was third and Shannon Hopkins-Parry fifth in the under-13 girls' event, and with Nancy Barlow doing very well to finish 28th in her first race, Hastings AC are now third in the team standings for that event.

Hastings AC enjoyed a one-two in the under-15 girls' race. Harmony Cooper produced arguably her best ever run to finish nine seconds clear of clubmate Maya Ramnarine, and both were well ahead of the rest. Evie Clements was sixth and the club is streets ahead in the team standings.

George Pool delivered a really good run to come second in the under-15 boys' race - only three seconds behind the winner. Isaac Elam was sixth and James Crombie 14th, and Hastings AC are also the leading team in that event.

Ellen Crombie made an impressive return from an eight-week injury lay-off to finish second in the under-17 girls' race and only four seconds behind the winner Joe Smith (Crawley).

The under-17 girls ran alongside the senior women, and Crombie was 13th overall. Caitlin Millar was the club's leading lady in 48th, just ahead of Riz Maslen in 52nd and Lorna Watts in 53rd.

Joe Body was runner-up in the under-17 boys' race, and there was a really good battle between James Mountford, Rhys Boorman and Gary Foster in the senior men's event. Boorman ended up 11th, and Mountford and Foster crossed the line together in 15th and 16th.

Conditions were bright but cold as runners tackled a hilly course which was very dry by cross-country standards.

Hastings AC senior man Kieron Booker, meanwhile, finished ninth in the Mouth 2 Mouth Marathon. Booker completed the 28-mile cross-country race from Shoreham to Littlehampton in a very good time of three hours and 47 minutes.
