New signing cheers United

BEXHILL United's faltering season has been given a lift by the signing of former Rye United attacking midfielder Dan Antink.

Antink had an unsuccessful spell with East Sussex League outfit Little Common earlier in the season but caught manager Len Watkins' eye in training and could be thrown straight into the side to visit Haywards Heath Town on Saturday March 8.

Watkins said: "He looks very, very good and will compliment our side well. He's fast, he's got good feet and works hard."

His inclusion may be at the expense of a couple of players whose appetite is being questioned by Watkins. He commented: "I think one or two have lost the plot a bit with their sort of commitment to training and I'm disappointed in that."

Goalkeeper Neil Cheek (work) is out but Darrel Shaw (knee) hopes to be fit.
