Remember the cricket season? Sunnier times recalled - in pictures

It seems a very long time since we last watched local cricket on these shores - and a very long time until we do so again.

So in the depths of winter and lockdown, allow us to lift spirits with some pictorial memories of the truncated 2020 cricket season across East Sussex. These pages feature the best of photographic legend Ron Hill's images from around the village greens last summer. He says: "These are from around the clubs that I visit during the season.... Uckfield, Buxted, Newick, Fletching, Mayfield and Hellingly, and a few others. There are 114 days to go untill (hopefully) the start of the SCL season by my reckoning!" See some of Ron's work in next week's (Jan 22) Sussex Express.
