Both had shown a notable amount of continued dedication and hard work throughout the difficult circumstances this past year.

The club say it will be exciting to see what these two hard-working young runners will achieve this summer as track season opens.

Last Sunday Worthing Harriers AC staged one of the first open meets of the year. There was a nice season debut in the 3,000m heat for Sean Parker-Harding, coming in third (9:55:62), and Jack Madden, fourth with a big personal best of 9:56:11.

Junior HAC athletes have been enjoying sessions back at the track. The Sunday morning ones are very popular and this week was no exception. The children basked in the sunshine, while focusing on balance, coordination, technique and, most importantly, having fun. Some great sprint standing starts were seen to be coming along.

The club will be hosting their own Youth Development League (YDL) event on June 5, so it will be exciting to see how these juniors members flourish during competition.

YDL is a fun day out where the juniors get to wear the Hastings vest and take part in run, jump and throwing events in a friendly competitive environment. The emphasis is very much on scoring points for your team and developing confidence.

The club are excited to be hosting this for the first time as it’s such a great event.

Hastings AC have a wealth of experience in delivering athletics to young athletes. Their DBS checked and fully qualified British Athletics coaches offer fun and enriching sessions for all abilities.
