JULY

* Mark Davis wins the World Six Reds Snooker Championship in Thailand during a golden three-week period in which he also reached the semi-finals of the Wuxi Classic and Australian Goldfields Open.

* Daina Rose, from Hastings, comes second in the under-17 girls’ individual event at the British National Trampoline Championships in Birmingham.

* Sedlescombe-based Louisa James, of Hastings AC, wins a silver medal in the senior women’s hammer at the English Schools’ Track & Field Championships with a personal best throw of 59.03m.

* Hastings United win 3-2 against Brighton & Hove Albion in a pre-season friendly at The Pilot Field watched by a crowd of 1,254.

* Bexhill beat Hastings Priory by seven wickets in a Sussex Cricket League derby at The Polegrove to avenge a 10-wicket defeat in the reverse fixture at Horntye Park.

* Yolanda King, from Hastings, represents England at the European Youth Table Tennis Championships in Austria and is a torchbearer during the Olympic Torch Relay.

* Josh Poysden dismisses three former Test cricketers for ducks en route to figures of 8-65 as Hastings Priory pulled off a splendid victory over Eastbourne.

* The White Rock Bowls Club team of Glen Newton, Nick Wingfield and Shaun Godfrey win the Bowls England Men’s National Triples Championship.

* Michael Stone wins the men’s singles at the Hastings Open Bowls Tournament, while Maxine Clarkson captures the ladies’ equivalent.

* Hastings United kick-off the new Ryman Football League season with a 1-0 defeat at Hampton & Richmond Borough followed by a 2-2 draw at home to Margate.

SEPTEMBER

* Crowhurst Park capture the Sussex Cricket League Division Three (East) title via a four-wicket win at Crawley on the final day. Hastings Priory finished third in the Premier League, while Bexhill and Sidley are relegated from the top flight and Division Two respectively.

* Hastings United celebrate their first FA Cup victory for six years with a 3-1 success at home to Chatham Town.

* Former world number two darts player Shayne Burgess, from St Leonards, hits the second perfect nine-dart leg of his career in the Sussex County Darts Super League Champion of Champion Play-Offs.

* Clay shooting great George Digweed, of Northiam, claims his 20th World Championship victory with the remarkable score of 199/200 at the World Compak Sporting Championships in Cyprus.

* Hastings Priory and Sussex Academy starlet Harry Finch is selected for the England Elite Player Development age group team at under-19 level.

* Sedlescombe-based Cathy Bargh claims her third European Senior Badminton Championships singles medal by reaching the semi-finals of the over-50 women’s singles in Bulgaria.

* A team from Sedlescombe Golf Club misses out on a trip to Spain for the semi-finals and final of the Mail on Sunday National Golf Club Classic after the quarter-finals in Manchester were washed out by rain.

OCTOBER

* Former Hastings United and Sidley defensive hardman Danny Spice retires from football after 13 months out with a broken ankle.

* Colton Alleyne-Davis, Beauport Park Golf Club’s assistant professional, wins his debut event in the paid ranks on The Players Tour at The London Club.

* Hastings United reach the first round proper of the FA Cup for the first time in 10 years by dint of a 3-0 triumph at home to Blackfield & Langley.

* Adrian Gray produces his best performance on the Professional Darts Corporation circuit since 2008 by reaching the semi-finals of a Players Championship event in Ireland.

NOVEMBER

* The present day Hastings United reaches the FA Cup second round for the first time in its 118-year history with a come-from-behind 2-1 victory away to higher grade Bishop’s Stortford.

* The men’s and women’s course records are broken in the Poppy Half Marathon as James Baker and Rebecca Moore produce brilliant runs in ideal conditions.

* Rye United are knocked out of the FA Vase following a 1-0 defeat away to Amersham Town only to be reinstated after the opposition was discovered to have fielded an ineligible player.

DECEMBER

* Little Common Football Club hosts its first ever floodlit game, winning 2-1 after extra-time in a Sussex RUR Charity Cup tie at home to Mile Oak.

* Mark Davis knocks out four-time world champion John Higgins en route to the semi-finals of the UK Snooker Championship in York.

* Hastings Seagull finish runners-up in the 2012 Arena National Swimming League Division One South, earning the right to be considered for promotion to the Premier League for 2013.

* Hastings United prevail on penalties after an epic FA Cup second round replay at home to Harrogate Town in front of a capacity crowd of 4,028 and a live television audience on ESPN. The U’s will visit Championship high-flyers Middlesbrough in round three this weekend.

* A last gasp Sam Crabb goal gives Rye United a 1-0 win over South Park to set up an FA Vase last 32 clash at home to Guernsey.

* Grace Baker wins her first international medal on foreign soil while representing England under-20s at an international cross-country in northern Spain.
