Robertson makes perfect start

Jimmy Robertson made the perfect start to the 2012/13 World Snooker season this morning (Wednesday).

The Bexhill cueman chalked up a 5-0 whitewash over Thepchaiya Un-Nooh in round two of the Wuxi Classic Qualifiers at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield.

Un-Nooh, who received the Thai nomination to compete on the tour this term, came into the match in good form having made a 136 break - the joint highest of the qualifiers so far - in his 5-2 first round win over Robbie Williams.

But the 27-year-old 2008 IBSF World Amateur Championship winner didn’t get much of a look in against world number 55 Robertson, who compiled a top break of exactly 100.

Robertson, who turned 26 last month, will take on 45th-ranked former World Championship runner-up Nigel Bond tomorrow (Thursday) for the right to play 22nd-ranked Barry Hawkins in the final round on Friday.
