Clive Tong has been appointed Crowhurst Park Cricket Club’s first team captain for the 2016 season.

The hard-hitting batsman will oversee Park’s summer in Sussex Cricket League Division Three after Paul Brookes stepped down at the end of the 2015 campaign.

Michael Legg will skipper the second team, Dan Flanagan will lead the thirds, Martin Barry will take charge of the fourths and Mandy Brookes will captain the ladies’ XI.

Park have already started indoor training for junior and adult players in preparation for the 2016 season.

Junior soft ball training - designed for cricketing newcomers - takes place in the sports hall at Claremont Prep School on Fridays from 6-7pm.

Hard ball training for the more experienced junior players is held in the new sports hall at Claremont Senior School, Bodiam, on Mondays from 6-7.30pm. Adult (open age) training follows immediately afterwards from 7.30-9pm.

Everyone is welcome, be it novice or experienced players. For further details, contact club coach Martin Barry on 07812 108941.
