Celebrating half century of Battle’s photography

BATTLE Photographic Society celebrates its 50th anniversary at its annual show.

It was formerly known as Battle and District Camera Club, latterly Battle Camera Club.

The photographic exhibition will be held in the Memorial Hall in Battle on June 27/28 between 10-4pm each day. Entrance is free.

A varied selection of work produced by many members will be on show in the main hall. Light refreshments, tea and coffee will be on sale all day. In the Shephard Room there will be displays of prints from members who have gained recent distinctions, offering visitors the opportunity to see international and domestic award winning photography. On show will be a series of 20 prints which gained the Chairman, Richard Tickner, Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society recently.

The new season of lectures, competitions of prints and projected digital images and photo workshops starts with an open evening to welcome new members on September 7. Meetings will be held in the Shephard Room at Battle Memorial Hall on Monday evenings at 7:30pm. Beginners and experienced photographers welcome, www.battlephotographicsociety.co.uk.
