A mysterious wooden sculpture was found on Bexhill beach today (Monday, August 10).
‘Salty Sam’ was discovered by passer-by Matt Corbin this morning by Beaulieu Road green and at the very end of the splash deck.
Matt works for Rother District Council and he said he knew nothing about the installation.
The ballad on his board reads: “The Ballad of Salty Sam.
“I come from these shores yet shores far away,
“I’ve drifted around on the crest of waves,
“But look for me after a wild windy storm,
“I may not be here I may have drifted on.”
