Shoreham lifeboat and coastguard called after reports of a person in the water near Brighton's Palace Pier

An RNLI lifeboat from Shoreham was launched at about 5.35 this evening, following reports of a person in the water near Palace Pier.

Later joined by a second lifeboat and a coastguard helicopter, a spokesperson said teams are looking for someone who supposedly fell into the water from the pier.
