I have just celebrated my 60th birthday and would like to take the opportunity to thank a number of people for making it such a wonderfully memorable occasion.

St. Johns Church on London Road near Town Hall Square was the amazing venue for a party and 100 friends and family came along. I would like to thank the owner of the church, Michael and Sue Ensor, for allowing me use of the hall, kitchen and stage throughout the Saturday.

Some fellow worshippers at Living Word Church on Eastwood Road did an incredible job decorating the hall and providing the best buffet I have ever seen!

Furthermore i must thank my Church Gospel Worship band for the wonderful set of joy-filled songs and also my friend, Bryan Perez, who performed three amazing pieces on his Spanish guitar.

The cake in the shape of a cross was enough to delight all who came. Thank you so much Trudy. In fact, others baked me four other cakes too! We were still eating them at church the following day.

I cannot remember receiving so many cards and gifts from so many well wishers - again thank you from the bottom of my heart.

To cap it all I was humbled at the monetary gifts which will go directly to help impoverished people I know through my 11 trips to the third world country of Uganda in Africa.
