A lick of water threatens to breach the studio door

gentle rhythmic rain

incessantly swells this un-natural lake

an over-flowing pothole

debris-laden and unwieldy

as the water-lick snakes and wibbles

a stray rabbit

worries its way

wet-furred

knocking into tree stumps

tripping precariously

one trembling foot

seeking solid earth

only to find a nothingness

yellow-blur eyes

almost concealed

by bulbous infected fleshiness

twitch, screw, in blind fear

unconcerned

at human nearness,

frantic in sick confusion

its sopping ailing flesh

may find peace

in the swelling water-lick

gorging up its near-lifeless body

as new debris

to breach the studio door
