Bexhill Photographic Club

THE recent success at the Kent County Photographic Association 3rd digital competition is starting to propel a warm digital wave through the club.

Paul Hutchings (assistant digital secretary) and Norman King (publicity officer) both entered the county digital competition. This is the first time any club member has dipped their toes in the waters of a digital CD entry to a county competition which Bexhill PC is affiliated to.

Paul and Norman both came away from the Detling venue in Kent with their tails wagging.

Paul's winning picture of a robin sitting on a stone shelf amongst what looked like a waterfall. Norman's was a grab shot of a couple in a cloudburst running for cover with shopping bags sharing an umbrella.

Both images scored 20 and won them a certificate of merit (awarded from 600 images entered from 102 photographers). Well done. The club has its first (internal) digital competition during the forthcoming Christmas social evening, before venturing into entering digital competitions with other clubs.

We had our first Set Subject slide competition last Thursday at the Friends Meeting House, Albert Road. Part one was Landscape. It attracted 20 entries from which a very moody picture of Durdle Door was chosen by our excellent judge David Rossiter. Ray Noble took the winning slide.

Our next meeting is on November 29 when David Mills LRPS presents 'Mono Moods'. Anyone interested in joining us on that evening please have a word with Mike Pethen our chairman on Bexhill 846973.
