Firm’s big cash boost for air ambulance
Sussex Air Ambulance has been the Rolls-Royce House Charity since 2008 and the donation has been made in the final month of the company’s official support. This has included donations, employee engagement programmes and awareness campaigns. A highlight was a visit by the air ambulance to the Rolls-Royce Family Day earlier this year.
Sussex Air Ambulance was launched in 2007 and has a complete HEMS Service (Helicopter Emergency Service) operating from Dunsfold Park. The air ambulance is able to deliver a medical crew to the scene of an accident or medical emergency in a fraction of the time taken by a land ambulance. Sussex Air Ambulance is a registered charity and is funded entirely by charitable donations, receiving no Government or National Lottery Funding; annual running costs are currently approaching £2 million.
