Wonderful place to be

THE Downs look so fresh in the early lightThe foxes have hidden until the nightAs the bees start buzzing and the butterflies flky,Not a cloud to be seen in the clear blue sky.The feeling of freedom for us is there,For Mother Nature will always care.

When the sun shines brightly over the Downs,

And the birds are singing, it's a wonderful sound.

To run on the grass in the early morn,

There goes a rabbit, a bit forlorn.

Secluded paths for us to walk,

With our loved ones we laugh and talk.

Under the trees in the grassy glade,

Picnickers arrive with food they've made.

The children hide and have such fun,

Their bodies tanned from the hot sun.

At the end of the day, darkness will fall,

As the owl in the trees makes his night call.

A peacefulness spreads and we say goodnight

We'll come again in the daylight.
