Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity and Hope Into Action among charities helped by support fund
Organisations which work with vulnerable people, often on the frontline, were allocated funding.
Jane Plumb, chief executive and founder of Group B Strep Support, which received funding, said: “We were delighted to receive £10,000 from the Covid Community Support Funding scheme in support of our helpline services.

Hide Ad“Like many other charities, 2020 has been an incredibly hard year and our income has dropped significantly while the need for our services remained high.
“Our helpline continues to support hundreds of families a month who have questions about group B Strep, and what it can mean for their baby.”
The other charities were Signposts (Mid Sussex) Ltd, Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity, Jigsaw (South East), Age UK East Grinstead & District, Hope Into Action: Mid Sussex, Shabash Cricketers UK, IMPACT Foundation, Sussex Search and Rescue (SusSAR), and Community Transport Sussex CIO.
Mims Davies, MP for Mid Sussex, said: “This is truly wonderful to hear and undoubtedly very welcome news for these organisations who have remained serving our vulnerable communities in various ways throughout the pandemic.”
