The groups referenced a recent report by the Competition Markets Authority that the average household spends around £1,200 on energy each year. It said extensive research showed more than a third never considered switching providers

It has been claimed a ‘lack of awareness’ of available deals can deter people switching.

Your Energy Sussex is a West Sussex County Council partnership group. The pop-up cafes are happening across the county.

Organisers said the events would help ‘de-mystify switching’, making sure people were on the best tariff for them.
