Nyetimber Stores to close and become a Spar

Nyetimber Stores is due to close before re-opening as a Spar with a new-style Post Office '˜local' service next month.

The Pagham Road shop closes on March 14 at 8pm and will undergo a major refurbishment to become a Spar convenience store.

Post Office Services will be provided from a low-screened service point alongside the retail counter at the Pagham Road shop.

Post office hours will change to: Monday to Saturday: 8am–6pm; Sunday: 10am–4pm.

The post office said the branch will open significantly earlier and will close much later and will now be open on Sunday, as well as Wednesday and Saturday afternoon.

This will make it more convenient for customers to visit.

This will be a “local plus” style branch with enhanced local services including manual banking (non-barcoded transactions), Transcash, and Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide

International parcels.

Payment by cheque will still be accepted.

David Gold, Post Office area manager, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.

The new Nyetimber Post Office will be delighted to welcome customers to the newly refurbished branch.

Local residents and small business customers will be able to access a wide range of Post Office and mails services, including Special Delivery, Local Collect, home shopping returns, online banking cash deposits and withdrawals.

Other services include Post Office Card Account withdrawals, sending funds abroad using Moneygram, and customers can also pay bills, pre-order travel money, apply for travel insurance and top up mobile phones.
