When will cinemas in Chichester reopen? This is what we know so far

The Government has confirmed that cinemas in England can reopen from 4 July, however many will not be ready to do so by that date.

As previously announced, Chichester Cineworld will be reopening on July 10 – along with other cinemas in the chain across the country.

But the team at the independent Chichester Cinema at New Park are still weighing up their options after three months of closure.

Founder and artistic director Roger Gibson is hoping the situation for the cinema will be clearer after July 1.

“Everything is in a state of flux at the moment.”

He said the cinema was currently working towards the three-day drive-in-cinema event which Chichester Cinema at New Park is currently planning for the last weekend in August in partnership with Chichester Festival Theatre.

As for galleries, Chichester’s Oxmarket will reopen on July 14 with an exhibition of mixed media work in its John Rank Gallery.

Chichester’s Pallant House Gallery is looking towards reopening “later this summer.” They say opening will “probably be August.”
