In the letter, seen by the Observer, it said: “It is with much regret that we have made the difficult decision to now close all of the ‘bubbles’ in the school for the remaining two days of school (Wednesday and Thursday).

“The school will remain open for pupils of key workers or to pupils who are considered vulnerable.

“The decision to close is due to further staff members now being required to self-isolate, which means we are unable to maintain the appropriate level of staffing needed to operate safely.”

The school will remain closed until January 5, it said in the letter.
