Students self isolating after Covid-19 case at Bexhill school

Students at a Bexhill secondary school have been sent home to self isolate after a confirmed case of Covid-19.

Bexhill Academy, in Gunters Lane, confirmed a year 11 student had tested positive for the virus.

The parents and carers of all students who need to self isolate have been informed, according to Bexhill Academy.

"All students who have not been contacted directly can attend as normal," the school said.

Bexhill Academy is the latest school in the area to report a case of Covid-19.

Hastings Academy closed for two weeks after five confirmed cases. Buckswood, and Rye College each reported a single case of the virus and East Sussex College also confirmed a positive test from a student at its Hastings campus.
