Bill Talbot Micro Show, Saffron Gallery, Battle, until August 6

SAFFRON Gallery’s latest Micro Show brings a surreal twist to its summer exhibition season.

Artist Bill Talbot’s latest collection of work is more abstract than local art-lovers have come to expect.

Best known for figurative paintings, Talbot now brings the latest inventions of his unusual imagination - masked female figures wearing bird skulls, mostly heron-like, with hinged metal finger covers and metal feathers extending from the tips.

The collection is a work in progress and Talbot, who has exhibited widely on the international stage with shows in New York, Venice and Hong Kong, is currently planning the next five paintings in the series.

Saffron’s summer exhibition continues until Saturday, September 3 with scheduled Micro-Shows throughout the season.

The gallery is open Monday-Saturday 10am–5pm, and this Sunday from noon–3pm. Call on 01424 772130 for more information or visit www.saffrongallery.co.uk
