A Turkish restaurant in Eastbourne has been shortlisted for the British Kebab Awards.

Dem Shish Restaurant & Cocktail Bar, in South Street, is a finalist in the Fine Dining Restaurant category. The winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on February 28.

The British Kebab Awards, in association with Just Eat, shines light on kebab takeaways and restaurants across the nation. Finalists have a chance to win one of 20 prestigious awards at the ceremony and more than 1,200 guests are expected to attend.

The awards are in their 11th year and this year it’s attracted record-breaking numbers of entries.

A restaurant spokesperson said: “It is an incredible honour for Dem Shish to be nominated for the British Kebab Awards. We have started our campaign by requesting our customers to vote for us, and are honoured to have the support and well wishes of the Mayor of Eastbourne and MP Caroline Ansell. Eastbourne is a wonderful town and we want to bring it home for them!”
